1 Corinthians 10:31 Devotional: Living Every Day for God’s Glory

How can everyday routines reflect your faith? This devotional on 1 Corinthians 10:31 explores what it means to live each moment for God’s glory.

Whether you eat or drink, live your life in a way that glorifies and honors God.

- 1 Corinthians 10:31

Have you ever found yourself just going through the motions in life? Sometimes we get so busy or caught up in the familiarity and repetitious routine of our days that we forget to live with intentionality.

What does this mean? Living intentionally means to walk in surrender to the Holy Spirit.

The word of the Lord says that no matter what we eat or drink, to live our lives in a way that honors God and glorifies Him.

This isn’t talking about being overly strict with our food and drink choices, although we are called to take care of our bodies in what we eat, but to be mindful of our everyday life decisions and make sure we're being guided by the Holy Spirit and not the flesh. What we eat and drink for lunch may sound like a trivial matter, but the point the verse is making is that even the smallest of details are important in how we live.

God loves and knows you on such a deep level that He wants to be involved in everything in your life. When you commit your finances, relationships, mind, attitude, words and dreams to Him, He is glorified! By living with intentionality, we are honoring Him because we are putting Him first in our daily choices.

Whether you have a busy or slow day ahead of you, talk to your Father about it. He loves it when your mind and attention are towards Him. Start your day off by saying, “I surrender everything I am to you, Lord!”

With Love,
Sarah Sherstad
