We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
- 2 Corinthians 10:5
What we agree with and what we think about holds power.
If you find yourself thinking about something incessantly or are unable to focus your thoughts elsewhere, the more likely you’ll start believing those thoughts.
Satan loves to assault our minds with warfare and convince us to agree with his lies.
Our minds are often a battle zone that the enemy targets.
What we think about matters.
What’s inside of our heads affects us emotionally, physically and spiritually.
It’s important to pause and analyze our thought life often and check the state of our hearts.
If we find there are thoughts and agreements that do not align with God’s word, then we need to rip it out, take it captive and cast it down at the feet of Jesus.
It is vital that we stay close to the word and renew our minds daily with God’s truth.
The more we have the truth of scripture in our hearts and in our minds, the easier it is for us to counter against the enemy.
Today, take some time to reflect on your thought life.
What have you been thinking about lately?
What do you believe to be true?
Are there any agreements you may have made with the enemy recently?
Who are you?
- Satan will tell you that you’re condemned. The word of God says that there’s no condemnation in Christ Jesus.
- Satan will tell you that you're unloved and lonely. The word of God says He loves you with an everlasting love and will never leave you.
- Satan will tell you that you’ll never be free and that things will never change. The word of God says that whoever the Son sets free is free indeed and that you’re being transformed and renewed.
What arguments and negative agreements do you need to break today?
What thoughts do you need to take captive?
Whatever they are, demolish them with boldness. Allow the truth of God to unravel your mind and then invite the Holy Spirit to consume your mind with His thoughts instead!
With Love,

Your mind matters more than you think. What you dwell on shapes your emotions. Your emotions influence your actions. And your actions shape your life. That’s why God speaks so clearly about renewing the mind. When we allow truth to take root, everything else begins to change.
Today’s verse invites us into a powerful spiritual discipline—taking every thought captive and making it obedient to Christ.
