“My grace is always more than enough for you, and my power finds its full expression through your weakness.”
- 2 Corinthians 12:9
In this verse, Paul was enduring demonic attacks and trials for His extraordinary revelations and after ascending into the second and third heavens.
Paul cried out to God for this to be taken from him.
The Lord told Paul that His grace was sufficient for him. The meaning of grace is “God’s enabling power.” God’s grace enabled Paul to endure and overcome the harassment of the enemy.
When the Lord told Paul His grace is enough for him, He wasn’t telling Paul that he would have to just cope with the suffering and put up with it, no!
God was reminding Paul of His power that lived inside him.
When you start to feel weak in the midst of your trials, that is when you recognize the power of God within you.
It is not God’s will for you to live in defeat, but to rise above the trials and storms of life. Yes, like Paul, you may experience suffering for your witness and testimony for Christ, but even in that He gives strength to endure it.
So I will celebrate my weaknesses, for when I’m weak I sense more deeply the mighty power of Christ living in me. So I’m not defeated by my weakness, but delighted! For when I feel my weakness and endure mistreatment—when I’m surrounded with troubles on every side and face persecution because of my love for Christ—I am made yet stronger. For my weakness becomes a portal to God’s power. (2 Corinthians 12:9-11)
Here, Paul explains it perfectly.
Understanding that Christ Himself is living inside you will allow the light of His glory to shine through the cracks of your soul. TODAY: Now knowing this, do not despise your weakness. It is a gateway to connecting to the enabling power within you. You will become a light house of His glory, a walking portal to God’s power!
