Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the men of old gained approval. By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things which are visible.  - Hebrews 11:1-3

- Hebrews 11:1-3

What do you believe in your heart about God? Have you been praying for something for so long that you wonder if He will ever answer your prayers? Maybe the answer God gave you isn’t the outcome you hoped for.

Perhaps you have prayed the same prayer for so long that you feel God is tired of hearing from you. Yet, despite your prayers, He remains silent, or the answer He gave you doesn’t add up in your heart and mind. It isn’t the answer you prayed to receive.

However, have you ever considered that the answer God is giving you is the exact right one for you?

Perhaps it is in the waiting and trial that God is growing you to accomplish His will.

God is a God of order. He uses processes to accomplish His will.

He is molding you to be like Him.

At times you may feel God is unfair, indifferent, or spiteful. And when we are alone and hurting, though we may never admit it, we might question Him and His plan.

But God’s character is unchanging. It is always good and kind, just and loving. We only need to go to His Word to remember who He is. He is the ultimate teacher. When He is quiet or silent in our pain and confusion, we must fall back on what we know about Him.

Our feelings are not the facts.

But faith is the assurance of things hoped for and not seen. It is the reason we can take heart!

As you wait today for God to work in your circumstance, allow Him to mold you into the person He wants you to be.

He isn’t being cruel by denying you. He is developing you into the person He desires you to be so that you are equipped with every good thing to do His will.

He already knows your heart. So, tell Him you are struggling with trusting Him and ask Him to reveal His will to you in the waiting.

Prayer for today: Thank you, Lord, for having my best interest at heart. Help me trust you when my desires and plans don’t match those you have for me. Let your presence be real to me. Let it bring peace to my anxious thoughts and my hurting heart. Thank you for making new ways to get me through the waiting. Amen.

With Love,
Sherry Shepherd
