Daily Devotional • Hebrews 13:5

I will never desert you, nor will I forsake or let you down or relax my hold on you.  - Hebrews 13:5

I will never desert you, nor will I forsake or let you down or relax my hold on you.

- Hebrews 13:5

What is Hebrews 13 about?

Is it about loneliness, isolation or being stranded?

No, Hebrews 13 is about the love of money.

The love of money causes not only a separation from what God has for us, but brings feelings of inferiority, superiority, work addiction and a false sense of security.

He wants you to know He will be there through thick and thin; He is faithful and reliable.

God is the safe place no earthly thing could ever provide.

Today: God wants to be your security, your sense of stability and peace.

So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently say, The Lord is my Helper and I will not be afraid. (Hebrews 13:6)

With Love,

Hi Melisa, I too am bipolar n have a lot of medications. I have been down some really rocky roads n dark times but God’s Grace n mercy has gotten me through all of it. Jesus wants us to come to him with all our troubles n lay them at his feet. He died for us while we were yet sinners. Romans 5:8. You’re forgiven! Now trust Him. Pray n pray some more. I will pray for you as well. God bless.

Praying for you Melissa. Just remember we all sin and God knew we would. Continued praying and searching His Word will help us overcome our sin. Find Christians who will help you in this. Sharing and learning from others who love Jesus is the very best thing to overcome what we feel is holding us back from a closer relationship to God. Blessings to you.

Dear Carolyn,
I am dealing with guilt and shamr a pattern that I fall into sometimes over the years . I binge drink and gamble I always feel abandoned when I do this foolishness. I doubt my salvation too. How can a I do this and claim to be a believer in Christ. Does this mean I’m not? I stumble and fall sometimes.my counselor says it has to do with my bipolar and medications and humanness. I’m sorry for putting this on you.but just need prayer to overcome and hold onto promise that He will never leave me or forsake me. Thank you for your time and prayers sincerely, melisa
