Yet, the strength of those who wait with hope in the Lord will be renewed. They will soar on wings like eagles. They will run and won’t become weary. They will walk and won't grow tired.
- Isaiah 40:31
Waiting. No one likes to do it. We wait in lines, in traffic, for paychecks, and even for happiness.
But waiting with the ‘hope of the Lord’ means that we wait, expecting His strength to lift us above life’s challenges.
Trusting the Lord means our ears are tuned to His guidance and our hearts to His leading.
Like an orchestra watching its conductor for cues, we must stay attuned to God’s timing and direction. Can you imagine what a mess it would sound like if everyone in the orchestra just played what they wanted simultaneously?
But beautiful music occurs when the orchestra plays off the same music sheet, watching their conductor for what is next.
Likewise, when we draw near to the Lord, we allow Him to orchestrate our responses to life’s challenges.
Sometimes, we may be tempted to stray off course and play and dance to the tune of our own drummer. However, when we embrace our conductor’s wisdom, He crafts the most beautiful life symphony.
Today as you wait on God, can you listen for His voice and await His cue?
Prayer: Lord, I wait on you today because when you give me the go-to play, it will be a beautiful melody, praising you, my conductor. You, Lord, hold the notes and sequences in my life. I trust you to guide me in life’s trials and opportunities. Although I may be tempted to play my own drum, help me to follow your heart and your direction. Amen.
With Love,
Sherry Shepherd
