Listen to me…I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
- Isaiah 46:3-4
What incredible words these are.
It is like a parent getting down low to speak to their child, saying, “Listen to me, because I have something very important to tell you. I love you so much that I not only made you, but guess what else? I will carry you, sustain you and help you. I will even rescue you.”
When a child falls, what does a parent do? They help them up, encourage them, and comfort them.
God, in His perfect love and grace, did that for us. He gave us His Son, as payment for our sin.
Because of His incredible gift, we can have eternal life with Him and help when we fall. We no longer have to bear the weight of life alone.
We have a helper, who wants to shoulder our burdens, sustain and even carry us.
When you are too exhausted to continue, imagine the kind and strong arms of your Heavenly Father embracing you, like a sleeping child and carrying you.
He is always with you.
