The gatekeeper opens it for him, and the sheep hear his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.
- John 10:3
God knows your name!
He not only knows your name, but knows everything about you.
The number of hairs on your head, your personality, your likes, dislikes, dreams and passions.
You are not a mere statistic or random number among the sea of His creation.
His involvement in your life is so much more personal than you can even comprehend!
Remember that the Lord is also your Shepherd. He is the one who guides your path and leads you out. He is your protector, your defender, your best friend and beloved. And He calls you by name. He knows you better than you know yourself!
When you read the word, look for the ways God speaks to you personally through it.
Just because your name may not be ingrained in ink on the paper in each verse doesn’t mean that it’s not meant for you.
The life-giving truth, freedom, love, joy, strength, peace, wisdom and fulfillment within those holy scriptures is meant for you and calling out to you!
Today, be reminded that your Shepherd knows your name, and hear Him calling out to you in the depths of your heart!
“Lord, I long to be more aware of how involved you really are in my life! Help me to hear your voice when you call my name, for only you are my Shepherd in this life.”

Pause and consider the beauty of being known so personally by God—He calls you by name and invites you to follow Him. In a world full of noise, His voice brings clarity and peace.
As you step into journaling, take time to quiet your heart and reflect on how He may be speaking to you.
Journaling Prompts
• When have you felt God clearly guiding or speaking to you?
• What distractions make it difficult for you to hear His voice?
• How can you create space in your daily routine to listen more intentionally?
• Where might God be inviting you to trust and follow Him right now?
• Write a prayer asking for clarity and a heart that recognizes His voice.

Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for knowing me personally and calling me by name. Help me to quiet the noise around me so I can hear Your voice clearly. Give me the courage to follow where You lead, even when I don’t understand the path ahead. Draw me closer to You and guide my steps each day. Amen.
