And a fierce windstorm began to blow and waves were breaking over the boat, so that it was already being swamped… And He got up and sternly rebuked the wind and said to the sea, “Hush be still” and the wind died down and there was a great calm.  - Mark 4:37, 39

- Mark 4:37, 39

It’s a season I thought would never end. Fierce storms rattled me to the core.

Have you ever been in a place where you questioned what you thought you knew of the God you served? What you still believed about the God whom you trusted? And then, of course, question yourself?

How can I rebuke the storms coming at me if I have storms raging in me?

There I was clinging to a boat adrift in surging waters tossed about as if to have no anchor. I was afraid! I cried out to God as I saw it.

And in the flood of all my questions, tears and feelings, He stilled the storms with a gentle yet firm response “you did not fall out of the boat”.

Just like that! He flipped my script! This simple response revealed a new perspective reframing my circumstance; making it possible to see from a different lens.

When I couldn’t see Him, or feel Him, or detect His presence at all, He was still there.

Always Watching. Shielding. Steering. Sustaining.

Just like that He rebukes the winds and calms the seas. And with THAT... I did not fall out of the boat!

Despite how I felt and what my eyes could or could not see, I kept holding on.

Dear friend, are you being tossed about by life’s storms? Are you still trying to rebuild from the wreckage left by past ones?

God is whispering to you “You did not fall out of the boat”! Whether it be from our choices, or out of our control; He will never forsake you.

He will rescue you and see you through from beginning to end.

He sees us not as how we see ourselves or the storms we are in. Let Him speak to your storms and you will not fall out of the boat!

Lord,
By your faithfulness and the Truth of your Word spoken over me, my eyes will see, my ears will hear and my lips will confess your Glory in this storm! Even if I can’t perceive it, I KNOW you are in it with me! Working through me! Fighting for me! I will declare! I am STRONG! I am a WARRIOR! I am a CONQUEROR! I am HIGHLY FAVORED! I am COURAGEOUS! I am a SURVIVOR! I have AUTHORITY! I am CHOSEN! I AM HIS! I AM! In Jesus’ name.
Amen!

With Love,
Jasmine Marrero

Hallelujah! I needed this. After 10+ years of storms, I feel I am finally getting my Holy Ghost fire back and it is so encouraging to know that I did not “fall out of the boat”! Thank You, Jesus, for never leaving me nor forsaking me. Thank You, Jesus, for speaking to the storms in my life! Peace, be still!!
