Heaven’s kingdom realm can be illustrated like this: A person discovered that there was hidden treasure in a field. Upon finding it, he hid it again. Because of uncovering such treasure, he was overjoyed and sold all that he possessed to buy the entire field just so he could have the treasure.
- Matthew 13:44
The kingdom of God is a treasure above all the treasures in the world. In this verse, the person who found the Kingdom was willing to give up everything else he had just so he could have God.
If you had nothing else but the Lord, would He be enough for you?
If you had to give up all your possessions, relationships with people in your life and even your dreams, would you still be content?
As we each go through our lives, the Lord is gradually training us to hold securely onto Him and treasure Him above all else.
The truth is, we can have as much of God as we want. He does not hide or withhold Himself in the shadows to tease us.
The things we think about most and give most time to is what we hold dearest. Seek His face and store His words in your heart.
A good place to start is by setting simple, small reminders of scripture and His presence throughout your home and workspace.
By keeping your mind and affection on Him, you will constantly be encountering His word and heart for you. When we prize Him above all, everything else pales in comparison to His love. The meaningless things of the world lose their grip on us.
Exalting Him to His rightful place in your life as Savior will strengthen your desire to keep Him on the forefront of your mind and live aligned with His will.
Today: The treasure of the Kingdom is the only treasure worth seeking. There is no life apart from Him.
With Love,
Paper Sunday
