Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

- Matthew 6:34

“Don’t doubt in the darkness what you have seen in the light.”

What has you worried today? Is there something weighing heavily on your mind?

Worries affect each of us at different times in our lives. But God’s Word tells us not to do it.

Fear steals our joy. It moves our focus off of Christ and onto our problems.

God tells us that today has enough worries; we shouldn’t focus on tomorrow.

Stay in the present because God is with you!

He will be with you again tomorrow, so you can trust Him to help you then as well.

Whatever you are going through, remember while we are weak, God is strong! The more we trust Him, the stronger our faith grows.

Today, whatever you are going through, be still before God. Seek Him and ask Him to help you. He will not forsake you. Remember, He loves you very much, and believing in Him and His promises gives power to your prayers.

  • The Bible tells me I am holy and dearly loved. Colossians 3:12
  • I am equipped for every good work. Hebrews 13:21
  • I am blessed with every spiritual blessing in Christ. Ephesians 1:3

And these are just a few things God tells me in His Word. The problem occurs when I insert negativity or wrong thinking into my day.

I have to remind myself what the Scriptures tell me. That means I must meditate on what is right and true rather than my understanding.

But beyond that, I must believe, trust, and accept it into my being.

Because when we take what is fact and turn it into belief, it moves from our heads to our hearts and transforms our lives.

Today is there a truth you know but struggle to believe? Ask the Lord to help you and change your thinking into believing.

Planning can help alleviate worry. We can consider our goals, tasks, and schedules and plan so that we are ready for upcoming events. However, when we continually worry about those events, issues, or desires, we take on what God doesn’t intend us to carry.

As you begin your day today, is there something God is calling you to release to Him that you keep taking back? Can you turn it over to Him and trust Him to provide for you?

Prayer: Dear Jesus, please be with me today and help me to rest in you. Remove any worries that weigh me down. Bring to mind your promises and help me follow closely after you. Amen.

With Love,
Sherry Shepherd
