Press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called you heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Have you ever watched a marathon runner?

They don’t start off fast only to burn out. Runners strive to keep a steady and trained pace.

However, there usually comes a point in the marathon that these athletes begin to battle themselves.

Their bodies ache, their brains scream, “stop,” and yet they push on through the pain.

Why? Because they know the finish line is ahead.

Life is like a marathon. There are times when difficulties make everything seem like an uphill climb.

There are beautiful moments when we can coast, and enjoy the scenery; and there are times when everything in us wants to quit.

However, God wants us to persevere through the pain.

He wants us to press on towards the goal, which is eternal life with Him.

Until then, we are to grow in Him.

We are to continue to run, sharing His love with others and serving Him so that we all may finish well.

Today: Stay hydrated during your ‘race’ by meditating on Philippians 3:14.
