I once thought these things were valuable, but now I consider them worthless because of what Christ has done. Yes, everything is worthless when compared with the infinite value of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have discarded everything else, counting it all as garbage, so that I could gain Christ and become one with him.  - Philippians 3:7-9

Jesus is our most beloved treasure!

Looking at the Apostle Paul’s words, we can see a man who is free and joyful in his revelation of how precious Jesus is to him. Former things he once considered to be valuable are now considered garbage when compared to his relationship with Christ.

When we prize the Lord above all else, it protects us from feeling empty, fragmented and incomplete. Gaining the revelation of how beloved Jesus is and our relationship with Him sets us free from trying to gain wholeness through other means.

The world will try to promise you wholeness and present temporary treasures, but they will never compare to the value of having Jesus Christ in your life.

  • He is the only treasure that is eternal.
  • He is the only treasure that will never fade.
  • He is the only treasure that, through knowing Him, will you have access to supernatural peace, joy and strength!

Even when you have moments in life where you feel like you have wandered, all you have to do is gently return your attention back to Him, reminding yourself that He is the only one who completes you.

No other person, place, or thing can make you whole like He can!

Today, take time to reflect on the Lord’s goodness and what a treasure He is to you! If you’ve been feeling fragmented lately, be encouraged to gently turn back to Him and make Him your first love again. He longs to make you whole in Him!

With Love,
Sarah Sherstad
