Can you think of a time when someone said something that made you feel good, uplifted, encouraged, or hopeful?

God’s Word tells us that kind and gracious words are sweet. They lighten the body and the soul.

With God’s involvement and the Holy Spirit, we can change and live life according to God’s will.

That might seem impossible when speaking. But rather than reacting emotionally, God calls us to speak life into others.

Since Christ has redeemed every part of our lives, including our words, we have the power to measure our words. That means our emotions and feelings do not have to weigh us down. We can be free from the negativity that keeps us enslaved and feeling depressed.

But how do we become people living for Christ and not for our own desires?

First, we focus on Christ and His ways. Then, we immerse ourselves in God’s Word. The more we know our Savior, the easier it is to embrace His will for our lives.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, please remove the thoughts and emotions that weigh me down. Help me to focus on you and the joy I can have through my relationship with you. Amen.
