Let not steadfast love and faithfulness forsake you; bind them around your neck; write them on the tablet of your heart. So you will find favor and good success in the sight of God and man.
- Proverbs 3:3-6
Did you know that God does not measure success in terms of results but in terms of obedience?
He knows that you cannot control another person’s actions.
You are not responsible for how someone else responds.
God is looking at your heart. He will support you faithfully following Christ.
That means when that coworker challenges you or a family member upsets you, God wants you to lean on Him for guidance.
He wants you to honor Him regardless of the situation you face.
So that everyone can look back on each day you lived and see God’s light shining brightly through you.
That’s not to say we don’t all mess up at times. We live in a broken world. The tendency may be to hide and act like we have it all together.
But a wonderful thing happens as we share our struggles with other believers. God works. He uses us to help one another.
It isn’t always perfect, and it’s certainly not pain-free.
But, God can heal us and grow our relationship with Him and others as we become vulnerable with each other.
Prayer: God, please be with me today as I interact with people who cause me confusion, hurt, or strife. Guard my words, and protect my heart as I go through this day. Amen.
With Love,
Sherry Shepherd
Trusting God sounds simple until life feels uncertain. We naturally want clarity, control, and reassurance about what comes next. But Proverbs 3 gently invites us into something deeper: dependence on the Lord instead of dependence on ourselves. As you journal today, consider what it would look like to release your worries and trust God one step at a time.
Journal & Reflect
- What situation in your life feels hardest to surrender to God right now?
- Where have you seen God faithfully guide you in the past?
- What does “trusting Him with all your heart” practically look like in this season?
- Write a prayer surrendering your plans, fears, or unanswered questions to the Lord.

Prayer
Lord, thank You for being faithful even when I cannot see the full picture. Teach me to trust You with my whole heart and surrender the need to control every outcome. Help me to acknowledge You in every decision, every uncertainty, and every step ahead. Fill me with peace as I follow where You lead. Amen.
Message from Kara
Friend, I know trusting God can feel challenging when life feels unclear or overwhelming. But over and over again, I’ve seen that His direction is always steadier than my own understanding. Even when we don’t have all the answers, we can still trust the One who does. As you journal today, I hope you feel reminded that God is gently guiding your steps—even in the waiting, even in the unknown. With love, Kara
P.S. Sometimes God reveals the next step instead of the whole roadmap—and that’s enough for today.
