For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
- Psalms 39:13-14 NIV
How is your relationship with yourself? Who do you see when you look in the mirror? Whose voice do you hear when you lie awake at night? Do you struggle with pretending to be despite having convinced yourself that you’re not? How can I be wonderfully made when many days I feel nothing more than disappointment and shame?
What would you tell your former self?
Who do you say you are?
God knew and created our “true selves”, the best version of ourselves; the “YOU” He created you to be in His vision and purpose for your life.
However, he understands humanity and its’ impact on his children.
It is only in and through him we can access redemption, renewal, restoration, recovery, relief and revival.
If you have breath your story is not over!
There is opportunity for development, “second chances” and transformation. His infinite grace and mercy and love will continue to pursue us, be available to us and mold us throughout the days of our lives.
His holy spirit is constantly at work within us drawing us closer to Him and teaching us how to live according to His example and in alignment with the path he has outlined for us.
That is why he instructs us to be diligent in renewing our minds and striving towards the best version of ourselves.
He does not see us through the lens of this world nor of our own, but, by the lens of His Truth.
His Truth is the Truth of his word over us, about us and by which He spoke into us as he “knit us together”.
God is well acquainted with the ‘YOU” He created and that version of you that’s been impacted, ascribed to, and influenced by this world.
There is a darkness in this world meant to overshadow the light and glory of God and in it separate us from the Lord; but to also create a divide to keep us from knowing and becoming whom God says we are.
Therefore, there is a need for transformation…sanctification that can only be possible through God. If there be nothing needing to be transformed, (which is what the Devil would have us believe), than where is the need for God in our lives?
All that would be left would be our own desires, our plans and our complaints which do not bring us peace, do not bring us closer to communion with the Lord, does not bring us closer to the person whom God designed us to be, nor does it establish a firm foundation for survival in a world which scripture says we are not of nor belong to!
So, friend, what will you tell yourself?
- “Your’re gonna be OK”
- “I’m sorry”
- “God loves you”
- “God has you”
- “You are stronger than you think”
- “You are more than enough ”
- “You are a survivor”
- “You are not alone”
- “You are forgiven”
- “I am proud of you”
God wants me to remind you that YOU were not a mistake. YOU were not a random act of creation. YOU were not a product of circumstance. YOU are not failure. YOU are not a disappointment to GOD.
You ARE so intricately made by the design of God’s own heart and molded by the creativity of His gentle hands. With careful precision he formed you and named you. He called you His own. You were defined and assigned…in Jesus’ name! Be loved!
With Love,
Jasmine Marrero
