Elizabeth Lalama Bio

Elizabeth Lalama is an Artist based in the state of Connecticut. Her love for creativity began as a young child, when she would paint landscapes alongside her dad who is a self-taught artist. She pursued a degree in Fine Arts from Southern Connecticut State University, where she specialized in painting and graduated in 2006. She continued to paint in her free time and sold art to friends and family and at local art fairs. 

Nature is almost always the source of inspiration behind my artwork. she loves to capture the beauty and patterns through vibrant color and loose strokes to create playful movement. Although she started out her creative journey with oils and acrylic, watercolor has become a favorite of hers. She enjoys discovering the unexpected surprises that happen with watercolor on paper!​ 

In 2020, Elizabeth stumbled upon an opportunity to take surface pattern design classes. She jumped in with both feet not knowing what to expect and came out with a new passion for turning her illustrations into patterns. She began working on a collection of pattern designs and reaching out to companies to license her work. In addition to working on pattern designs, Elizabeth also works on commissioned pieces and teaches art classes.
