2 Corinthians 5:17 Devotional: Becoming a New Creation in Christ

Struggling to leave the past behind? This devotional on 2 Corinthians 5:17 explores what it means to become a new creation in Christ.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature: the old things passed away; behold, new things have come.

- 2 Corinthians 5:17

Are you ready for Spring? When trees bud and green grass peeks through the dead, brown ground, new life is apparent everywhere. No other season of the year quite brings to mind hope like Spring. Perhaps it is because we are emerging out of a cold, long winter, and the sun is shining more.

But most importantly, I believe it is because Spring is the season when we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior. His incredible sacrifice is the ultimate gift of life.

Like the trees though alive, appear dead in the winter, we too though alive, without Christ, are dead. Through His resurrection, we spring to life, full of the hope of an eternity with Him! He alone makes all things new.

Today, what things in your life can you trust God to make new? Is there something that you need His love to heal? You can trust Him with your heart and your future.

With Love,
Sherry Shepherd
