Daily Devotional • Colossians 3:16 • Let God’s Word Fill Your Heart

Colossians 3:16 invites us to let God’s Word live richly within us—shaping our thoughts, guiding our actions, and overflowing into encouragement for others.

Let the word of Christ have its home within you as you teach and train one another with all wisdom, singing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.

- Colossians 3:16

In the early church they were all learning together, teaching each other what revelations they had had and equipping each other.

It was simple...singing, sharing, worshipping and releasing thanksgiving.

They pursued God individually, but shared God with each other and increased as a church.

Edifying each other in groups or bible studies is crucial, but not the end.

The preparation is for us to find those who don’t have fellowship or have never heard the gospel!!

TODAY: God you surround me with your sons and daughters so I will be built-up in love. Help me to create that for others, to give and not just receive.

Pray for us, too, that God will open a door [of opportunity] to us for the word, to proclaim...Christ, for which I have been imprisoned. Colossians 4:3

With Love,

Message from Kara Heckel, founder of Paper Sunday

This verse always challenges me in the best way—because it reminds me that God’s Word isn’t meant to stay on the page, it’s meant to live in us. Colossians 3:16 has been a gentle nudge in my own life to slow down, be intentional, and let Scripture actually shape how I think and respond. Not perfectly, but consistently. I’m so grateful you’re here, choosing to make space for His truth in your everyday life.
