Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.  - Ephesians 4:29

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

- Ephesians 4:29

All too often we find ourselves in situations where we are discussing another person in a negative light.

Ask yourself. How does this benefit either of us? What do we gain by speaking negatively about this person?

When you find yourself in a situation like this, redirect.

It’s not what goes into a man that defiles him, but what comes out. Instead of continuing conversations negatively about that person, stand firm in your conscience and defend the person.

Give them grace!

All too often we fall short. A righteous man falls down seven times and gets back up seven times. God gives grace to them and likewise, we should extend the same grace.

Don’t engage in gossip or corrupt conversations. Build people with your words. If you learn of someone’s errors, pray for them. Humble yourself, knowing you’ve made mistakes too. We are not our mistakes. Pray for them privately. Don’t share with other people. Have mercy and the same will be done for you when you fall.

Father, Let my conversations be pleasing to you. Let my words edify those who listen to me. Help me to pray for those others gossip about.
Thank you Lord.
Amen.

With Love,
Corrin Hallett
