The chief cupbearer, however, did not remember Joseph; he forgot him.
- Genesis 40:23
Have you ever walked into a room and briefly forgot why you were there?
Or maybe you spent time looking for your phone while you had it in your hand?
How about you were the designated parent for a function, and it slipped your mind.
You are definitely not alone!
In fact, there are 60 bible verses that mention forgetting. If we are honest, we’ve all been there at one time or another.
Perchance it wasn't as forgettable as the chief cupbearer. Forty years had passed before he remembered to mention Joseph!
I think more relatable is forgetting the power the Lord has given us.
Struggling with doubt, fear and worry? Losing hope and joy in the process? If that’s you, pray this small powerful prayer.
TODAY: Lord, remind me of the power you’ve placed in me, to silence any fear and doubt. Allow joy to fill me head to toe. Put your law in my mind and write it on my heart. Help me hear the chaos as a chorus. I ask for kindness to grow inside the souls that have gone dark.
Please never let me forget your love. Amen.
With Love,
Sierra

Pardon me Gentleman, it was a typo. It was mention the verse number and the years he had forgotten. Thank you so much for pointing this out. I will be more diligent in the writings of the lords word. Thank you for holding me accountable.

Thank you for these devotionals – I love ingesting God’s Word.
Per Genesis 41:1, it was 2 years in which the cupbearer forgot Joseph, not 40.
Thanks and have a blessed day!

Where did you come up with the “forty years?” I cannot find that in any scripture or other studies.
