Daily Devotional • Isaiah 55:8

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.  - Isaiah 55:8

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD.

- Isaiah 55:8

This morning I found myself in a dispute with my toddler over cookies.

She wanted a bag of these frosted, colorful cavity harboring yummies because she was hungry.

I tried to explain we were going to breakfast…we just needed to get in the car.

She threw a fit, until she finally grasped that what I had planned was way better than what she wanted.

This is how we often act with the Lord. I want what I want!

We get emotional when the job we wanted or the title we worked hard for is given to someone else.

The promotion, raise, a desk away from a fragrant coworker prayer…Lord you didn't answer.

And then later, we look up and see our reality and say, Lord you did have better for me, you will have better for me.

What we want for ourselves may not be what the Lord wants. He has superior plans for our life.

TODAY: Trust that if you receive a no, it could be short for no-t now, no-t today. There is no-thing finer than what God has in store for you!

With Love,
Sierra

I love the way your write. You are a gifted writer. I sent this on to my daughter, Suzy., who is in grad school(HBU) learning to become a LSSP in public schools. She is a single mom with an 11 year old boy on the Spectrum. She has run into obstacles in her Practicum in the neighboring school district. You are very encouraging and I look forward to your devotionals as they come. I plan to share with her.
thank you
