Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the men of old gained approval. By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible.

What do you really believe in your heart about God?
Have you been praying for something for so long that you wonder if He will ever answer your prayers? Have you ever questioned God’s goodness or love for you because He has been silent?
Sometimes when we go through trials and have hurdles to overcome, the past looks better than our present, and the future looks bleak and overwhelming.
Others may even say God is unfair, indifferent, or spiteful. And when we are alone and hurting, though we may never admit it, we might feel that way too.
But God’s character is unchanging. It is always good and kind, just and loving. We only need to go to His Word to remember who He is.
When He is quiet or silent in our pain and confusion, we must fall back on what we know about Him. Our feelings can lead us astray and cause our faith to waver.
So, today, remember that faith is the assurance of things hoped for and not seen. It is the reason we can take heart! As you wait today for God to work in your circumstance, tell Him you are struggling with trusting Him. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you.
Prayer for today: Jesus, please let your presence be real to me. Let it bring peace to my anxious thoughts and my hurting heart. Thank you for making new ways to get me through the waiting. Amen.
