Daily Devotional • Hebrews 13:20

Now may the God of peace who brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great shepherd of the sheep, by the blood of the eternal covenant, equip you with everything good that you may do his will, working in us that which is pleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory forever and ever. Amen.  - Hebrews 13:20

- Hebrews 13:20

I love this verse in Hebrews. It says that the God of peace, who brought from the dead our Lord Jesus, is there for us.

We have access to the great peace of our God, who is also the Shepherd of the sheep through the blood of Jesus, His Son.

As believers in Christ Jesus, we have access to the power of God.

How amazing is that?

That power that God gives us is to equip us with everything good to do His will so that we will be pleasing in His sight.

So essentially, God is working within us to make us the kind of people who mirror Him and accomplish His will.

That may sound confusing. Why would God want us to change?

It comes down to our trust in believing that Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No man comes to the Father except through Him.

God sees and knows every tiny thing happening in your life. He understands your heart pains and longings.

However, God also sees the big picture. He knows things we cannot possibly grasp. Therefore, He deserves our trust in Him.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank you for your great love for me. Thank you for enabling me to react and act out of the abundance of love you have given me. Amen.

With Love,
Sherry Shepherd
