The crowds that went ahead of Him and those that followed were shouting: “Hosanna to the Son of David!” “Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Hosanna in the highest!” When Jesus had entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?” The crowds replied, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.”  Matthew 21:9-11

- Matthew 21:9-11

Have you experienced a time in your life when you felt radically changed or different?

The city was crowded with people who were gathered to prepare for Passover. As Jesus entered, most of the people were unaware anything was different on this Passover. On the streets of Jerusalem that day, they suddenly saw people in a frenzy and heard shouts of praise, and like any of us would, looked to see what was going on.

The disciples and His followers knew who He was, and their time with Him had changed their world. They embraced hope as they witnessed Jesus demonstrate humility, compassion, and a genuine love for others, particularly the “others” that most people wanted no part of. Their experience with Him changed who they were.

Have you experienced Jesus?

I have met many people over the years who love Him, but they never really had a radical, life-changing encounter with Jesus.

One of the best ways to encounter Jesus is by reading His word. When you read, you begin to discover His character, causing you to see Him more in others. You soon choose to seek Him more, and as you seek Him more, you want to experience Him more. It is a wonderful cycle to get swept up in, and as you do, others will see the change happening in you!

Is your Bible a little dusty? I encourage you to pick it up and begin to read. Allow the words to speak to you. Experience Jesus in the pages. And very soon, when others look at you, they too will ask, “Who is this?” And you will look at them and say, “This is Jesus!”

Let’s pray together…
Father, we thank You for Your Word. Thank You for Your Son, Jesus. I am sorry I have allowed myself to get a little off track, or I have forgotten about my experience with Jesus. Open my eyes to see Him more clearly as I read the pages. Help me to hear His words for me. I want to experience You more, and I want to share that experience with others. Thank you, Father, for Your grace and Your mercy. Thank you for your love.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen

With Love,
Pamela Austin
