“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.”
- II Corinthians 5:17 NKJV
When we meet Christ and accept Him as Lord, our Spirit is regenerated by God. God, the Holy Spirit, sets up residence in us, and we are saved.
There is no salvation without finding and being known by Christ. When we find Christ, we become a new creation. Salvation is not the end of your spirituality; it is the beginning. Your spiritual life is a life of constant change and continued growth.
Being renewed is a daily process. The Bible says, "You are being renewed day by day" (II Corinthians 4:16).
Discovering intimacy with God is part of being a new creation in Christ. Intimacy is the experience of truly knowing and being known. Intimacy with God is no different than intimacy with people. We become intimate with God by reading His word, listening to His voice, and praying.
Prayer, reading, and listening to God will require that you give God a part of your day. Hanging out with God is rewarding and life-changing, and God rewards those that seek Him.
And without faith, it is impossible to please him, for whoever would draw near to God must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who seek him. (Hebrews 11:6, ESV)
The rewards of seeking God include peace of mind, direction, and wisdom. Additional benefits of seeking God include peace of mind.
You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You because he trusts in You. (Isaiah 26:3, NKJV)
The rewards of being a Christian all begin when you become born again.
Accept Christ today.
Pray this prayer with me.
Father, I know I have broken Your laws, and my sins have separated me from You. I am genuinely sorry, and now I want to turn away from my sins; please forgive me. I believe Your Son, Jesus Christ, died for my sins, was resurrected from the dead, and is alive. I invite Jesus to become the Lord of my life, to rule and reign in my heart from this day forward. Thank You for filling me with Your Holy Spirit to help me obey You and to do Your will for the rest of my life.
Blessings,
Thomas
