Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God — children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision of a husband’s will, but born of God. We are children of God.  - John 1:12-13

Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God — children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision of a husband’s will, but born of God. We are children of God.

- John 1:12-13

As God’s child, you are never alone.

He made us a part of His family when we accepted His Son, Jesus, as our Savior.

As His child, we can be assured of His constant companionship with us. God tells us we were not born into His family as a human, but adopted as His child when we came to a saving knowledge of Him.

Being “born again” means that we are changed from the inside out. Our desires, way of life, and choices should all reflect the new life God has given us. Out of our gratitude springs forth change.

It isn’t always easy to give up our old selves or habits. But with the Holy Spirit living within us, we are empowered with the Lord’s help to accomplish His will in our lives.

Therefore, God is with you no matter what you are facing today. Isn’t it comforting to know that nothing can separate you from Christ?

Whatever adversity, discouragement, or struggle you are trying to understand or overcome, God is for you. If you go to the mountains or the middle of the ocean, He is there with you. God is there if you are alone, facing an unexpected loss, or surrounded by many but feeling unknown. He knows you. He calls you by name, and His love for you is astoundingly great.

While we all will face trials, difficulties, and pain, we can be assured that Christ is at work on our behalf. He will use our pain to draw us to Him and to transform us into His likeness.

Prayer: Thank you, Jesus, for opening the way for me to be a part of God’s family. I am so grateful for the enormity of your love for me. Amen.

With Love,
Sherry Shepherd
