How could you worship two gods at the same time? You will have to hate one and love the other, or be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t worship the true God while enslaved to the god of money!
- Matthew 6:24
As our first love, God is also our first and only master. When He is truly #1 in our life, we desire to please Him above all else.
Mindsets, materialistic things, and other people will try to fight for this spot in your life. However, what the world won’t tell you is that if you make anything other than God your master, you will not have freedom, but be enslaved to them.
People pleasing, lusting after fame, success, and exalting man’s opinion over God’s truth are all false masters that will only lead to downfall.
When you refuse to give in to the world’s demands and choose to bow down before God, He will raise you up in freedom.
The desire to serve Him and Him alone is rooted in His unconditional and extravagant love for you. Even the most extravagant pleasures of the world cannot compare to the pleasure of encountering His love and being consumed with His divine presence!
Today, rejoice in being able to serve the King of Kings! In the intimate relationship He has promised you, you will experience things the world would have never deemed possible. When you choose to put Him first and live for Him, you will experience peace and joy beyond your understanding!
With Love,
Sarah Sherstad
