Daily Devotional • Matthew 6:3-4 ESV

But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.  -  Matthew 6:3-4 ESV

But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

- Matthew 6:3-4 ESV

God calls his people to be givers. But, he also calls us to give according to His will, to give with a cheerful heart, and to give without a lot of ‘pomp and spectacle’

Give to others because you want to be like Jesus.

If someone is cold, don’t just pray for them… give them a coat.

If someone is hungry, don’t just pray for food. Feed them.

There are people in the world who aren’t followers of Jesus who are more generous and giving than believers. This should not be the case! Christians should be the example of generosity!

Help those you can help. Don’t be braggadocious or arrogant about how you have helped someone in need. Simply give to them and tell them that Jesus loves them. In every act of giving, we are sharing the gospel. We are a representative of heaven here on earth. Lead by example.

Father, Forgive me if I have ever given boastfully. Allow me to give genuinely and earnestly. Let me remember that I am a representative of heaven here on earth.

In Jesus Name,
Amen.

With Love,
Corrin
