Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.  - Philippians 2:4

Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.

- Philippians 2:4

Do you find it difficult to listen well?

I need help with staying focused. I want to listen but find my mind wandering.

I am easily distracted and begin thinking of all the things I must accomplish during the day or begin to worry about my family or personal issues.

However, every relationship requires listening, including our relationship with God.

I go daily to God with my requests and worries. But I don’t always sit, read His Word and listen to Him.

It sounds so silly that my most important relationship is prioritized last in my day when it should be first.

God’s Word is the foundation of my faith. It is the foundation of your faith!

To thrive spiritually, we must immerse ourselves in the Scriptures.

They are God’s love language, directing us on how to live healthy, transformed lives.

The Scriptures contain all we need to align our purpose, our attitudes, and words with those of Jesus.

Listening requires us to be in God’s Word. It is how He speaks to us. He can use other believers to guide us, as well as sermons and songs.

God can use the smallest of things to show us He is there and cares. But, when we meditate on His Word, it penetrates our hearts and minds. It changes us to be like Jesus.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, help me never to put You last. Tune my heart to listen to You and read Your holy and most precious Words to me today. Amen.

With Love,
Sherry Shepherd
