You can plan your future all you want, but ultimately the Lord is the one who establishes your steps.

We may think it’s possible to influence God into doing things our way or somehow modify His will to align with our plans.

However, our plans are so shortsighted in comparison to an omniscient God. It is a much better choice to learn to relax and let Him lead.

Just like when two people dance, one leads while the other follows.

The one who follows doesn’t worry what the next step will be because they are focused on their partner who is leading them.

The follower knows that if they tried to orchestrate their own steps instead of looking to the leader, the entire dance itself would become interrupted and clumsy.

Just as the lead dancer directs the steps of his partner, so does the Lord direct the steps in your life! There is no need to fret over what your future entails, because God already knows the steps you will need to take, and you can trust Him to lead.

Today: Trust the Lord enough to let Him lead the dance of your life! He is your sovereign God. He is your protector. He is your shepherd. He is your provider. His word is a lamp to your feet. Your future is in His hands!

“Heavenly Father, thank you for directing my steps in every moment. I know that even if I don’t know what the next step is, you are faithful to show it to me in your divine timing. Help me not just walk with you through life, but to dance with you! Amen.”
