By wisdom a house is built, and by understanding it is established; and by knowledge the rooms are filled with all precious and pleasant riches.  - Proverbs 24:5

- Proverbs 24:5

Have you ever tracked how much time you spend on your phone or watching television?

While using these things in appropriate amounts of time and ways is fine, we often fall prey to wasting hours scrolling endlessly from one thing to another.

Unfortunately, it is a common problem. Our phones immediately entertain us. We have information on everything at the tip of our fingers--news and information that is constantly updating and changing.

But did you know that the information we get from God’s Word is living and meets us where we are?

That’s why when we read God’s Word one day and then the same verses another day, those scriptures minister to us in entirely differently ways.

His Word is living and breathes life into us!

Why does the Bible talk so much about wisdom?

King Solomon, who had everything imaginable, from wealth and power to love and relationships, tells us to get wisdom because it is far more precious than silver or gold.

But the knowledge that King Solomon tells us to get isn’t the kind of wisdom you get in life or school per se.

It is wisdom you get from the Bible. It’s what we get from knowing Jesus and His ways.

That wisdom helps us withstand the temptations of sin, choose righteousness, and live a more peaceful life.

Real power and strength come from understanding what God wants for us and making good choices based on His direction!

Prayer: Dear Jesus, please help me remember to seek you daily. Give me direction as I look to you, and keep me from straying from your path. Amen.

With Love,
Sherry Shepherd

I guess the verse is Proverbs 24:3-4.
But a great reminder that wisdom comes from the Lord.
