- Jeremiah 29: 12-13

I find this passage of Jeremiah so encouraging because it shows that there is always hope for God to deliver us from what holds us captive.

When sin, difficulties, and trials have us hostage, we can take heart!

God remembers us as He remembered His people being held in Babylon.

He had a new beginning with a new purpose for His people and was creating something new within them.

When we are suffering or going through hardship, we often learn lessons that we wouldn’t otherwise have the opportunity to learn. We grow in areas where we might be immature.

But God is not absent during these times.

Instead, He is preparing us, as He did the people of Judah, for a new start with Him as our center.

God wants us to call on Him in confidence. Through prayer, we are always connected to our heavenly Father. And we become genuinely free through trusting Him to deliver us.

Today, whatever you struggle to break free from, God desires to help you.

He has the power you need to accomplish His will.

Prayer: Jesus, thank you for being a God of relationships. Please help me to grow closer to you each day so that I might break free from the things of earth that hold me in bondage. Amen.

With Love,
Sherry Shepherd
