When you lie down, you will not be afraid; Yes, you will lie down and your sleep will be sweet. Do not be afraid of sudden terror, Nor of trouble from the wicked when it comes; For the Lord will be your confidence, And will keep your foot from being caught.
- Proverbs 3:24-26
Let this scripture wash over you today and encourage you.
If we allow it, it can be easy to get caught up on the sudden terrors that strike the world day by day.
The enemy is working an agenda to instill fear into as many hearts as possible.
However, as God’s children and vessels of His Spirit, we don’t need to be afraid. God is not nervous, so nor should we.
Instead, we can fight the enemy's agenda of fear by having confidence in God and the promises He’s made us!
Jesus has also given us His supernatural peace that transcends human understanding.
We don’t have the spirit of fear, but we have the mind of Christ!
No matter what may be happening around the world, God has never left you. He is here to stay!
Today, reflect on the amazing truth of this scripture. When fear tries to flood into your mind and drown out the voice of truth, immediately remind yourself of God’s promises and what He has spoken over you!
He is your shepherd, your defender, your protector, your strength, your joy and your peace. When you lie down to sleep tonight, He will be there to watch over you.
Let the Lord be your confidence today, and He will keep your foot from being caught.
Prayer: Lord, help me to never give in to fear that tries to flood its way in. I choose to cast down thoughts and refocus my mind on you. I know there is no reason to be afraid, for you are with me! I thank you that I will sleep peacefully tonight as I put my confidence in you.

Many of our worries begin with questions about what might happen tomorrow. We replay scenarios, imagine outcomes, and carry burdens we were never meant to bear alone. Proverbs 3 reminds us that true peace comes from trusting God with both our present circumstances and our future. As you journal today, consider the fears, concerns, or uncertainties that may be disrupting your peace and bring them before the Lord.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for being my confidence and my source of peace. When fear and anxiety try to take hold, help me remember that You are watching over me. Teach me to trust You with the things I cannot control and to rest securely in Your care. Quiet my anxious thoughts and fill my heart with the assurance that You are faithful, present, and working for my good. Thank You for the peace that comes from knowing You hold both today and tomorrow in Your hands.
In Jesus' name,
Amen.
Message from Kara
I think one of the greatest struggles many of us face is the temptation to worry about things we can't control. We want certainty, answers, and guarantees about the future, but life rarely offers those things. That's why Proverbs 3:24-26 speaks so deeply to my heart. The passage doesn't promise that life will always be easy. Instead, it points us to something even better: the assurance that God Himself is our confidence. Because He is trustworthy, we can rest. Because He is faithful, we can release our fears. Because He is present, we don't have to carry tomorrow's burdens today. If you're feeling overwhelmed by uncertainty, I encourage you to pause and hand those concerns to God. He is more than capable of carrying what feels too heavy for you. Praying that His peace guards your heart and mind today and that you experience the deep rest that comes from trusting Him completely.
With love, Kara 🤍
