It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes.
- Psalm 118:8-9
Have you ever questioned your worth and taken hurtful words to heart? At times, I have.
Unfortunately, situations and people can say and do things that cause us such hurt that we struggle to gain the next breath.
Our soul hurts, and our body aches. We long for restoration, but find conflict instead.
Some situations are so complicated and challenging that the only way to deal with them is to bathe them in prayer.
Seek wise counsel and stay in God’s Word.
Colossians 3:12 God tells us He understands us, equipping us for every good work.
As we seek Him and ask Him to restore peace and understanding, He hears our cries. He knows our pain, and He asks us to trust Him.
Today, you may feel down or even lonely. Perhaps the holidays bring grief. You may not have a family to celebrate with or can’t get to them. But, whatever you are facing, God is with you. He promises never to leave you or forsake you.
Prayer: Dear Jesus, be near to me and comfort my heart. For it is in your name I pray. Amen.
With Love,
Sherry Shepherd
