Set a watch, O Lord, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.
- Psalm 141:3
Set a watch… in context this means to watch over, be cautiously observant. To guard from error and from danger.
You would think that something so mindful wouldn’t need to be said!
As a mom, I’m pretty sure I fell into the ‘helicopter mom’ category. I was overly cautious and constantly hovering over my little ones.
In this verse, David, crying unto the Lord, asks for watch over his mouth!
Another fox we see in scripture that is not so little and often times gets a front row seat in our lives is the lip fox.
Lying, gossiping, criticizing...Life and death are in the power of the tongue. Proverbs 18:21
TODAY: Have you had a fox here or there in the thicket of your lips? Even if it is a question, bring it before the Lord.
Psalm 19:12 reads "Who can understand his errors? Cleanse me from secret faults.”
With Love,
Sierra

Father GOD, I hear you loud and clear. And I shall obey Your Commands. I love when you come in just at the right moment to offer gentle correction, and to guide me. In JESUS holy name I pray.
