Praise be to God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.

How amazing that we have all the benefits of knowing God in Christ!

As believers in Jesus, we have been chosen for salvation and adopted into God’s family.

That means we have the promise of eternal life and the joy and hope that comes from living with Jesus forever.

But it also means that we have the promise of hope here on earth, the power of the Holy Spirit to guide us, and the gifts He gives us to use for His glory.

While we often think of blessings as earthly tangible things, in this verse, they are those things that come from the heavenly realm. They are of eternal value--like our salvation, the assurance of heaven, and our spiritual gifts.

As you thank God for His blessings, do you question what your gifts might be? If so, what comes naturally for you?

For example, do you enjoy visiting with people, teaching, or even serving others?

The Lord has gifted you with spiritual gifts that you can use to honor Him and help others.

So today, as you begin your day, ask God to help you use your talents in a way that will help others and serve Him.

Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank you for the many blessings you have given me, especially those of eternal value. Please help me to use my gifts and talents for you faithfully. Amen.
