He came as a witness to testify concerning the light, so that through Him all might believe.

So often, I find myself going to God with my long list of requests. I don’t realize I am doing it because praying is like second nature.

However, thankfulness isn’t.

It’s not easy to admit that, at times, I can be a selfish human being who just wants her prayers answered.

But God desires to hear my praises too. He wants to listen to my thanksgiving. And He is so deserving of it!

I am not sure if you do this, but I complain when things don’t go my way and forget to thank Him when things are going well.

Instead, I should come to Him with a grateful heart. Thanksgiving should be a natural part of my prayers to the Lord because He has gifted me with so much.

Every day that I wake is another opportunity to live for Him!

The beauty of the sunshine and the cool fall temperatures are incredible gifts.

Likewise, our families, friends, animals, homes, and jobs are gifts. But we often forget to thank him for those.

So today, rather than coming to Him with your requests, can you go to Him with thanksgiving?

Prayer: Dear Jesus, thank you for loving me and giving me so many incredible gifts. Thank you. Amen.
