Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
- Matthew 6:34
What has you troubled today?
Is there something that is rolling around in your head over and over?
Worry can challenge any of us.
But, God’s Word tells us not to do it. I don’t know about you, but that is challenging for me.
I think about all the possible outcomes of a particular situation and then obsess over how it could all play out. Most times, I am entirely wrong.
Worry steals our joy.
It moves our focus off of Christ and onto our problems.
God doesn’t tell us not to plan. In fact, planning can help alleviate worry.
We can consider our goals, tasks, and schedules and plan so that we are ready for upcoming events. However, when we continually worry about those events, issues, or desires, we take on what God doesn’t intend us to carry.
As you begin your day today, is there something God is calling you to release to Him that you keep taking back? Can you turn it over to Him and trust Him to provide for you?
Prayer: Dear Jesus, please be with me today and help me to rest in you. Remove any worries that weigh me down. Bring to mind your promises and help me follow closely after you. Amen.
With Love,
Sherry Shepherd
