Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest, I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

- Matthew 13:30 KJV

This is a wonderful parable of Jesus.

The wheat (believers) and the tares (nonbelievers). We are to grow together. We are in the world, but not of it!

We lead by example through Jesus Christ. We reap those we were sent to harvest.

If you share the good news with someone and they don’t receive it, don’t be discouraged. You weren’t their harvester.

You have planted a seed. The Lord will water it.

You might not be the harvester for that person, but you were the sower. You were the one who planted the seed.

Then there are the laborers who help the seed to grow.

By living as an example, you show those around you how to live a life in Christ Jesus. They see the Jesus in you. The fruits of your labor.

Another believer may be the one to bring them in. The harvester.

Each has a purpose and a place in the Kingdom of God.

Sowing the seed. Laboring to take care of it. Finally, harvest.

And, remember, everyone is at a different stage in their life.

Have patience with those who are lost. Be humble and kind. Lead with love.

Father, I pray for my family and friends who haven’t come to know you yet. Send laborers. I pray that their hearts will be convicted and turn to you. I have tried to speak to them, but they refused to listen to me. Forgive them Lord. We don’t want to be in heaven without our family and friends. Make a way for them Lord. Visit them through a man, woman, child, a preacher, a video, a devotional. May the hinderance be removed. May no one be left behind. May the sowers, laborers, and harvesters lead by example.

In Jesus Name,
Amen.

With Love,
Corrin Hallett

Great word my grandma sewed Jesus in my life as a young child we had Bible study every Friday and Saturday and we prayed everyday before school
. It’s true there is always the person that is assigned to you from our father
And a key is that still small voice whenever you hear it, that’s the individual that you are assigned to witness to

“Plant the seed and Jesus will water it.” I love that. Jesus called us to harvest others and bring them to Christ. And even by being a good example, we can accomplish that. Glory to King Jesus forever.

This is such a wonderful way to describe our roles in the world as believers, Corrin. It is easy to get discouraged when we share the love of Jesus with someone and they don’t readily accept it. But knowing that I am just part of the process – the sower, the laborer or the harvester – causes me to be encouraged!
