Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.  

- Matthew 5:8

Our hearts comprise our innermost being. They contain our emotions, mind, and will.

I recently read a study that said when people were shown photos, their hearts reacted before their brains did. Now I am not a scientist, but God does tell us to guard our hearts because everything flows from them.

This verse says the pure in heart will see God and be blessed. Being blessed means, we find our joy in the salvation we have in Christ.

It isn’t based on our outward circumstances, which can change. When we know the Lord, we have an assurance that we will spend eternity with Him.

It is so easy to look at the things on earth and grow weary, but when we cast our eyes to the heavens, our hope comes from the Lord.

It is a joy to know there is a place that God has already prepared for each of us, where there is no pain or suffering.

How amazing to know that everything will be perfected there. Until then, God has a purpose for your life here on earth.

He desires that you use your gifts and talents for Him so that others who don't know Him might hear the Gospel. Ask God to help you be pure in heart.

PRAYER: Dear Jesus, I ask you to examine my heart today. Remove any hindrances that keep me from serving you. Help develop a pure heart within me. Amen.
