Daily Devotional • Psalm 73:26 (NIV)

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.  - Psalm 73:26 (NIV)

My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.

- Psalm 73:26 (NIV)

God is your power source.

For many of us, we get so caught up working towards our careers, dreams and creative passions that we sometimes forget how much strength we require from God.

While we may be able to get things done running purely off our own physical strength and willpower, we will inevitably burn out if we don’t stop to connect with Him.

God created us to be closely intimate and connected with Him in all things.

This means He desires to be connected to us at home, during work and in our creative spaces… not just on Sunday mornings at Church.

We are His instruments and vessels of clay that He desires to operate through for the glory of His kingdom.

He designed us to have His creative and divine power flowing through us in connection with Him.

By practicing His presence and pursuing time with Him, the easier it is for us to connect with Him and therefore be strengthened by Him.

In short: How much you connect with God has a direct impact on how successful you are in your calling and destiny!

If you are often unplugged from God’s power source, then the harder you will find it to function in your work, creative passions, and dreams. You cannot thrive through your flesh alone.

How often do you connect with God’s power source? What differences do you notice in the way you function when you’re closely connected to God or unplugged from God?

Today, choose to set aside time to connect with God through prayer and reading His word. Doing this, He will be able to speak to you through scripture and impart His strength to you, empowering you for the day ahead.

“Lord, thank you for being my power source. Even when my own physical and mental strength fail, I know I can depend on you as my main source of strength. Help me to be disciplined to seek you more so that you may work through me to accomplish your purposes.”

With Love,
Paper Sunday
