Yours, O Lord, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O Lord, and you are exalted as head above all.

- 1 Chronicles 29:11 ESV

The Lord spoke to my heart and simply just wanted me to acknowledge his glory.

God says “I am who I am”.

He encourages us to draw near to him. He is calling us to call on him.

He is our creator, provider, protector, comforter, healer, waymaker, restorer, savior… God is everything that was and is and is good for us.

But He is a God deserving of praise that far exceeds what he can do for us and what our thoughts and feelings may limit him too.

There will be moments when God simply just wants us to be with him because of him.

Acknowledging who he is to us and take time to separate that from what he has done for us.

It’s a different kind of intimacy and gratitude and love that is expressed during those shared moments when you are soaking in the presence of His character and unconditional love and giving him praise and honor and thanks for just being himself.

There’s a reverential respect that can be found in those moments as well when we recognize the magnitude of glory that is beyond what we can fathom yet by faith we believe and appreciate that he has adopted us by open invitation to have these moments with him.

So let us give thanks to the God of Gods and Lord of Lords for His loving kindness continues forever!

Praise him who alone does mighty miracles, who made the heavens and planted water within the earth. The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.

Praise Him, who alone, examines my heart and knows everything about me; when I sit or stand, who can hear each tear that falls and when far away you know my every thought. This is too glorious and too wonderful that I can never be lost to your Spirit.

How precious is it Lord to realize that you are thinking about me constantly and simply just want to spend time with me and love me. Your name, O Lord, is worthy of all glory and worship upon my lips. I lift my praises to you as rivers of living water flow from the inner most reservoirs within me. You are most holy and by your sacrifice and in your grace we are given the privilege to enter into the Holy of Holies and stand in the midst of your fragrance as it fills the room. For this and so much more, Lord, My God and My Father I praise you.

Give thanks to the God of Gods and Lord of Lords for His loving kindness, power, glory and kingdom will reign forever and ever!
Selah!

With Love,

Scripture

“Yours, O LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the victory and the majesty, for all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, O LORD, and you are exalted as head above all.”
— 1 Chronicles 29:11 (ESV)

Context & Meaning: Worship at the End of a Reign

This verse comes near the end of King David’s life. He is preparing for the construction of the temple — a project he will not personally complete. Instead of centering himself, David publicly declares the greatness of God.

He does not claim credit.
He does not highlight his legacy.
He does not cling to control.

He worships.

“Yours… Yours… Yours…”

The repetition is intentional. David recognizes that everything — power, victory, glory, authority — ultimately belongs to God.

This is not abstract theology.
It is relational humility.

David’s worship reflects deep personal knowledge of God’s character.

And that kind of worship strengthens relationship.

Why This Matters in Daily Life

We live in a culture that celebrates self-exaltation:

  • Build your platform
  • Protect your image
  • Defend your influence
  • Chase recognition

But Scripture calls us to a different posture:

Exalt God above all.

When God’s greatness fills your perspective, anxiety shrinks.

When His power is central, control loosens.

When His glory becomes your focus, your need for approval diminishes.

This verse invites you to realign your view of who truly reigns.

And that realignment reshapes your relationship with Him.

Step 1: Reflect on What You Magnify

Write honestly:

  • What occupies most of my thoughts?
  • Do I magnify problems more than God?
  • Where am I striving for recognition?
  • Do I see my accomplishments as mine alone?
  • How often do I pause to acknowledge His greatness?

Worship begins with awareness.

Step 2: Rewrite the Declaration Personally

Write:

“Lord, Yours is the greatness. Yours is the power. Yours is the glory.”

Add specifics:

“In my career, Yours is the power.”
“In my family, Yours is the authority.”
“In my future, Yours is the kingdom.”

Make worship concrete.

Relationship deepens when reverence becomes personal.

Step 3: Turn Praise into Prayer

Write a prayer centered on:

  • Thanking Him for His sovereignty
  • Acknowledging His authority
  • Surrendering control
  • Asking for humility

Praise shifts the tone of your relationship.

Instead of approaching God only with requests, you approach Him with reverence.

And reverence builds closeness.

Step 4: Practice Worship Today

Choose one action:

  • Verbally thank Him for a recent victory.
  • Pause during stress and declare His power aloud.
  • Begin prayer with praise before requests.
  • Write one attribute of God you are grateful for.

Worship is not reserved for Sundays.

It is daily relational alignment.

Step 5: Cultivate Relational Humility

David understood something profound:

He was king — but God was greater.

When you remember God’s exalted position, pride softens.

And humility opens space for deeper intimacy.

God’s greatness does not distance you.

It invites you to trust.

How This Builds a Personal Relationship with God

A relationship without reverence becomes shallow.

A relationship without trust becomes fragile.

1 Chronicles 29:11 strengthens both.

When you acknowledge His greatness:

You surrender control more easily.
You trust His authority more confidently.
You worship with deeper sincerity.

Worship is not performance.

It is relational alignment.

The more you exalt Him, the more secure you feel under His leadership.

And security deepens intimacy.
