Daily Devotional • John 5:6-8

When Jesus saw him lying there and knew that he had already been there a long time, he said to him, “Do you want to be healed?” The sick man answered him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up, and while I am going another steps down before me.” Jesus said to him, “Get up, take up your bed, and walk.”  - John 5:6-8

Healed vs. Miracle

Healed • Restores body, soul, and spirit.
Miracle • Divine intervention that is unexplainable.

God wants everyone healed. When God wants to build you up, he brings a situation to help you grow. When Jesus came to the man at the pool, he did not ask him if he wanted to be healed. Healing is only part of the story…

God is asking you; do you want to be whole?

Ask yourself, do you want to be healed? Do you want to be whole?

God wants to establish you. Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired? The man at the pool was hoping someone would put him into the pool instead of finding someone to put him in.

As a child of God, you should walk in the realm of knowing.

  • Know that by his stripes you are healed.
  • Everything that you endure as a child of God is working out for your good.
  • God came to give you an expected end.

If he brought you to it, he will bring you through it.

When he brings you through it, do not return to that place!

There is a requirement on your part: Accept that God can make you whole. Be willing!

Dear Lord,

I am willing to be made whole. I have no doubt I am ready to step out beyond this place. I will not return to this place. I am ready to go beyond what I know. Help me to remain in you. I trust in you. With you, all things are possible.

In Jesus Name,
Amen

With Love,
Corrin Hallett

Response to Diane

“When Jesus saw him lie, and knew that he had been now a long time in that case, he saith unto him, Wilt thou be made whole?”
‭‭John‬ ‭5‬:‭6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He asked him to be made whole. The original translation says whole.

When Jesus came to the man at the pool, he did not ask him if he wanted to be healed.
I am confused. Didn’t Jesus ask if the man wanted to be healed? Why then does the devotional say he didn’t ask?
