Take the carefree birds as your example. Do you ever see them worry? They don’t grow their own food or put it in a storehouse for later. Yet God takes care of every one of them, feeding each of them from His love and goodness. Isn’t your life more precious to God than a bird? Be carefree in the care of God!
- Luke 12:24
Be carefree in the care of God today.
Worries and cares can eat away at us if we let them. The enemy wants us to worry.
Fear, anxiety and stresses about life and what we will eat, what we will wear, and how we will be provided for are all distractions to get our eyes and trust off God.
God is the god of more than enough.
As His beloved children, it is His delight and pleasure to provide and take care of us. Just as a mother and father delight in and love caring for their children and watching them grow, so does our Heavenly Father do the same for us!
As Luke 12:24 says, if God cares for a bird enough to provide its daily food, then how much more must He care for us? In God’s eyes, you are much more valuable than a bird! You are His precious son/daughter!
As we seek His face and kingdom above all else in our lives, we don’t need to worry about our personal needs.
God pays great attention to every detail and need of your life, and as you place your trust in Him, He will always be faithful to provide those needs.
Is there something you’ve been worrying about lately?
Lay it down at the feet of Jesus today.
God has your back, and He’s already thought of the solutions for your problems way in advance. He already has it taken care of. He already has it figured out.
Be at rest. Be at peace.
Today, be carefree in the care of your Heavenly Father.
“Lord, how great is your tender love and care for me! When worries seem to eat away at me, help me to lay them down at your feet in exchange for your peace. I choose to trust you and be carefree in your caring arms!”
With Love,
Sarah Sherstad
It’s easy to say “trust God,” but much harder to live it—especially when uncertainty feels overwhelming. Jesus points us to something simple yet powerful: creation itself. The birds don’t strive, store, or stress—yet they are sustained daily by God’s hand.
Before you move on, take a moment to sit with this truth. Let it settle into your heart as you reflect and respond.

No, trust isn’t passive. It means doing what you can while surrendering the outcome to God, believing He will provide what you truly need.
Why does Jesus use birds as an example?
Birds are a simple, visible reminder of God’s daily provision. They don’t store up resources, yet they survive—showing us a model of dependence on God.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for reminding me that I am seen and cared for. When worry begins to take over, help me remember Your faithfulness. Teach me to trust You not just in words, but in the quiet places of my heart where fear tries to grow. Just as You provide for the birds of the air, I know You will provide for me. Help me release my anxiety and rest in Your care today.
Amen.
