1 John 1:7 Devotional: Walking in the Light

What does it mean to walk in the light? This devotional on 1 John 1:7 explores honesty, cleansing, and deeper relationship with God.

If we keep living in the pure light that surrounds him, we share unbroken fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, continually cleanses us from all sin.

- 1 John 1:7

When we consistently walk in the Light and stay close to God, the blood of Jesus continually cleanses us of all sin.

The moment we become aware of our sin, God wants us to come to Him and lay them down at His feet.

The more we walk in His Light, our fellowship with Him is maintained.

Doing this also means to consistently be transparent, open and honest before the Lord.

Often, the Enemy will try to stop us by attacking with feelings of shame and guilt.

Whenever Satan tries to rear his ugly head at you, remind him of what Jesus did on the cross for you!

Keep in mind, our redeemed status with God is not dependent on how quickly we confess our sins or how fancy we get with our prayers when confessing.

Only His perfect righteousness is enough to keep you right with Him, which has already been freely given to you.

Since you are a royal child of the King, you are already robed with His righteousness.

As a member of His eternal family, you can now enter into His presence with confidence!

As we continue to break down our inner walls and be open to God’s Light, the blood of Jesus will continue to cleanse all sin in our lives.

The more transparent we are, the deeper our fellowship is with Him.

Sharing things with our Father, the good and bad, also become a blessing because it only deepens our relationship with Him.

Rejoice in His righteousness today! He has cast aside all of your shame and purified you white as snow. God is looking at you in radiant approval, adorned with His Love-Light!

With Love,
