Daily Devotional • Isaiah 21:12

The watchman replies, "Morning is coming, but also the night. If you would ask, then ask; and come back yet again."  - Isaiah 21:12

The watchman replies, "Morning is coming, but also the night. If you would ask, then ask; and come back yet again."

- Isaiah 21:12

God is an ever present Watchman.

Diligently walking the walls identifying enemies and ready with armor, a shield and arrows of righteousness.

Throughout scripture we read time and time again how God will go before us to fight against our enemies, He will go behind us to be our rear guard, He is an ever present help during times of trouble, and He will deliver and save.

However, our pride often prevents us from asking or accepting the gracious offer of protection and fortitude.

The beauty is: God wins. I mean, literally always, God wins.

If you build up your own castle you will have weak walls made of pride, envy, worry; all man made constructs.

You have to awaken each morning and take down those bricks one by one, and start to build a fortress for the Kingdom, welcoming all and guarding your heart.

As you build this beautiful new Kingdom, guess who will be there ever present, walking the walls, standing firm for you, watching, protecting, loving...

Today: He’s ready, are you asking?

With Love,
Paper Sunday

I needed this beautiful reminder today. My son was in a horrible accident last night and the Lord saved him out of it. I’m so grateful to God for sparing my son’s life. Today, as we begin the next steps of insurance, police reports and phone calls – my husband reminds me to stay calm and remember that God is in control and that he takes care of everything and works even these things together for our good and to His glory. I responded that it’s hard for me because it’s almost like I don’t want to not worry because I don’t want to just say “eh, God has it – I don’t have to worry about anything or do anything” as if He works for me, which the Lord doesn’t. So this. This, scripture and teaching for me, was profound and timely. Thank you so much for sharing, for your service to the Body of Christ and unto the Lord!
