Knowing their thoughts, he said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will stand.”
- Matthew 12:25 ESV
A house divided cannot stand.
As a Christian, we are called to pray for one another.
When a member in your church makes a mistake, do you pray for them? Do you expose them? Do you whisper with other members about their error? Do you share information to shame and condemn them? Or do you privately pray for them?
There isn’t one patriarch in the Bible who didn’t stumble.
When you learn of a man or woman of God who has errored, pray for them.
We all fall short of the glory of God.
All too often when men or women of God stumble, the church is the first to attack them. This should not be so. A house divided cannot stand.
Instead, pray for them. Intercede for them. Ask God to strengthen them in their weakness.
There will come a time when you are weak and will be in need of prayer. You will want someone to have mercy on you. To pray for you.
Blessed are the merciful for they will be shown mercy. We are one body in Christ. Let’s do all we can to help build up the body of Christ, not tear it down!
Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank you for the knowledge that a house divided cannot stand. Thank you for mercy. Thank you that I am not condemned. Because you have shown me mercy, I will be merciful to others. I will pray for those who struggle. I will support those hardest to be supportive of.
Thank you for this truth.
In Jesus Name,
Amen.
With Love,
Corrin Hallett
