When you go through deep waters, I will be with you. When you go through rivers of difficulty, you will not drown. When you walk through the fire of oppression, you will not be burned up; the flames will not consume you.
- Isaiah 43:2
The times when we have hardship can be the times when we feel the most alone.
While our family, friends and loved ones are wonderful blessings that can accompany us through these hard seasons, God wants you to know that He is also with you.
Unlike people here on earth, God is not limited by time and space.
He doesn’t ever leave you. He is never tired of hearing from you. He is not annoyed by our neediness. He is always available and waiting for you. He is always present, ready to whisper encouragement in your ear and instill His peace into your heart.
If you’ve been going through a hard season, take a moment today to remember who He is, and then remember who you are in Him. Think on His goodness, His faithfulness and His love. Go back to the Secret Place with Him and step into His presence.
If you’ve already experienced it in the past, then you already know the way! If not, ask Him to show you. He will be faithful to answer as He gently draws you back to Him.
Remember, you are His beloved child, and He has promised to never leave you nor forsake you, never ever.
He is holding you by your right hand even now, leading you through the fire.
When you come out of the other side, you will find yourself refined and fortified because He was with you the entire time…even if you did not see it at first!
Be encouraged, and know these deep waters will not consume you. God is with you and for you!
Prayer: Lord, even in the midst of hard seasons, I know you are there. Remind me again of your nearness and how I’m never alone! As I grip your hand in trust, thank you for bringing me through even the deepest of waters. Help me to remember who I am in you, and show me the way back to your presence.
With Love,
Sarah Sherstad
