We often think of blessings as the things we ask God for, opportunities, provision, healing, or breakthrough. And God certainly delights in blessing His children in tangible ways.

But some of His greatest blessings are the ones that shape our hearts. Wisdom gained through challenges, deeper faith formed in waiting, and the peace that comes from trusting Him are blessings that transform us. King Solomon tells us that there is nothing more precious than wisdom and he had every possible thing a human could want. In 1 Kings 4:29, we learn that God gave King Solomon great wisdom and breadth of understanding. Solomon asked God for a discerning heart to govern, and God blessed Him with peace, longevity and many earthly blessings and riches. God uses each of us in different ways and as we develop the mind of Christ, we realize that nothing is ours. It is all His. So how we use it should be vastly affected by our heart to please Him and tell of His infinite glory.

When we begin to see life through this lens, gratitude naturally grows. We realize that God’s goodness is woven into every part of our story, we realize the story belongs to Him, and that should change every action we have and every word we speak.

Prayer: Father, thank You for every good gift You give. Help me recognize not only the visible blessings but also the ways You are shaping my heart and drawing me closer to You.
